The Elmira/Corning Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), its annual Freedom Fund Awards Banquet will be held on Friday, June 2, 2006, 6:30 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel, 125 Denison Parkway East, Corning, New York.  The theme for this year is:  “NAACP – Making Strides – Closing The Divides.” The keynote speaker is Mr. Hilary O. Shelton, Director of the NAACP Washington Bureau, Washington, DC. Tickets are fifty dollars ($50.00) per person adults, and thirty dollars ($30.00) youth 6 to 15. The ticket price includes an organization membership. Honorary Chairman for this event is Mr. Monte Trammer, President and CEO, Elmira Star Gazette, Elmira, New York.                                        

This activity affords the Branch the opportunity to recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Branch and community, award scholarships, raise funds for branch operations, and acquire memberships.  Please come and share this special evening with us. A summary of the branch highlights of 2005 were also presented by Linda Truesdale, Second Vice President, as a Slide-show Presentation.

NOTE*: Mr. Hilary O. Shelton was not able to attend our event because of not being able to connect his airline flight to Elmira. In his absence Mr. Monte I. Trammer, Honorary Chairman, gave the keynote speech.
