The Elmira-Corning Branch of the NAACP sponsored a Black History Jeopardy 2006, on February 25, 2006 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the Ernie Davis Community Center located at 362 East 5th Street, Elmira, New York.
The game tested the knowledge of history and events that have been instrumental in shaping African American life. Contestants were comprised of teams according to grade levels 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. About one hundred questions were supplied for study purposes (use this link to access them: Black Jeopardy 2006 Questions and Answers). Participants did not know which 25 questions would be asked out of the number supplied. Cash prizes were awarded, refreshments served, and the public was invited.
