Elmira/Corning Branch of the NAACP 18th Annual Life Membership Luncheon was held on March 10th starting at 12:00 noon at the Elmira-Riverview Holiday Inn, Elmira, New York.  A copy of his speech is found at Roosevelt Dillard- "An Investment in Life".

 

Biography of Roosevelt D. Dillard, Sr.


Roosevelt is a 19 year employee of Corning Incorporated and is presently the Program Manager of Large Size Development for Display Technologies. Throughout his 24 year career in Manufacturing and Engineering, he has traveled extensively to many exciting places around the world, and lived in Tokyo, Japan for three years.
 

He has held several positions, in multiple divisions within Corning Incorporated including: Plant Manager in Environmental Products, Operations Manager in Science Products, and Engineering Manager within Manufacturing Technology and Engineering.

 

Roosevelt is committed to the spiritual and academic development of our youth in the community through his roles as a Deacon (in training) and as Youth Ministry Director, which he co-leads with his wife, Wynton Norvel Dillard, at Friendship Baptist Church in Corning.

 

Roosevelt and Wynton have a blended family with six children. Kristen and Daria have completed their college studies at Hampton University and the University of Michigan, respectively.  Maya and Darlene will graduate this spring, from Hampton University and Clark-Atlanta University, respectively. Roosevelt, Jr. is a freshman at Southern Illinois University and Austin is a junior at West High School in Painted Post.

 

Roosevelt holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and an Executive Certificate in Global Leadership from the Tuck Business School at Dartmouth.
