Sexual Integrity, Abstinence and STDs Workshop

The Southern Tier Pregnancy Resource Center (STPRC) in collaboration with the Elmira/Corning Branch NAACP conducted a workshop at the Faith to Face Church, located at 35 Tuxill Avenue, Corning on Saturday, June 11, 2005 from 8:30am to 11:30am.  We thank , Reverend Dr. Mark D. Vaughn, the Pastor of Faith to Face Ministries, for allowing us permission to conduct this meeting. The purpose of the Center’s presentation during this workshop was to introduce to the community the Pregnancy Resource Center and the services that they offer. The Client Services Director at the Center, Linda Truesdale invited the community to this workshop to demonstrate the resources that the STPRC has as regards to better and resolve issues concerning relationships, sexual integrity, abstinence, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and unplanned pregnancy. It is their job to provide the community of adults and parents information and skills to empower teenagers with the information that they need to make informed decisions and choices to promote healthy and responsible relationships and sexual integrity. Robin Savard, Executive Director, STPRC, and Board President, Dr. John Schiavone gave presentations about the STPRC organization and STDs, respectively. The local NAACP branch sponsored the Continental Breakfast that was held from 8:30am to 8:50am.
