Founded in 1909 by a multiracial group of citizens committed to social justice, The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has attracted over 2.5 million members in its 110+ year history. Because the fight for civil rights still has its enemies, the Corning-Elmira NAACP has many passionate detractors. But the loyalty and affection of our members, friends and supporters is unsurpassed.

Membership is the “lifeblood” of the Corning-Elmira NAACP. Throughout the history of our Branch, many people have committed to the struggle for civil rights by joining our branch.
